Fjord Norway, Skiing, Vikings, Lofoten, northern lights, Hurtigruten, cities - and More

Norway is the western part of Scandinavia, with a small population (less than 5 million) and many great places to visit, whether you want fjords, mountains and skiing or culture, history and lovely cities.
Oslo is the capital with many good museums; Bergen is surrounded by mountains, is the southern end of the Hurtigruten Norwegian Coastal Voyage and has the Bryggen world heritage site; Stavanger is the small city with big city restaurants, nightlife and facilities plus top attractions in and around the city; Kristiansand is the warm popular capital of the southern sørlandet region; Trondheim is the big university town and Tromsø is the friendly and most northerly city. All the cities are built beside the sea, with boats a major feature of life.
Norway has good travel links with many hubs in Europe, like London, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Frankfurt, which have connections to America, Asia, etc.
There are also several good places to start exploring.
It is just an hour or two flight time from the UK, Denmark, Sweden, Germany and Holland, with many other connections not so far away.
There are ferries from Denmark, Sweden and Germany - the links to Britain ended in 2008, until at least 2014 (see here for more info) ... in late 2013 it looked like a possibility but then it went quiet again.

World class Attractions

Whatever your interests, we think we can impress you with the things to see and do in Norway. Active and sporty, Families, Sightseeing, Fjords and Mountains, or History and the Vikings - you choose.
Also check out all the special events and festivals - Stavanger was the European Capital of Culture in 2008

Holidays and short breaks

Whether you are coming to Norway for a 2 week summer touring vacation, grabbing a quick weekend break, looking for places for a one or two-centre self-catering "hytte" holiday, thinking of taking the Hurtigruta Norwegian Coastal Voyage, or planning your next skiing trip we have suggestions for you

Accommodation

Our hotel search and booking system will return every room available in your area for your dates, and includes hotels you won't find anywhere else.
Hyttes (meaning cabins or cottages) are the main self-catering option in Norway, with apartments becoming more common in skiing areas. We think you will like our new hytte and apartment search and booking system.

Skiing

Norway has many good - and growing - ski resorts. You can reach Sirdal, Sauda and Røldal as a day trip from Stavanger, Voss and Geilo from Bergen, with Hovden, Hemsedal, Lillehammer area and others not so far away from several cities.
